A Wrinkle In Time Sets Concentric Circles Reeling

Happening! is the performance arts festival curated by Letizia Renzini in collaboration with NAM – Not A Museum, Manifattura Tabacchi’s contemporary art platform (Firenze, Italy). On occasion of Happening!, Rob Mazurek presents his original and site-specific project A Wrinkle In Time Sets Concentric Circles Reeling; an installation that includes videos, photographic prints, sound and performance via streaming. The work correlates with the forthcoming new release: Rob Mazurek Exploding Star Orchestra, Dimensional Stardust which is being released by International Anthem/Nonesuch Records November 20th.

Cornetist, electronic musician, visual artist and performer Rob Mazurek (Chicago, USA) is internationally renowned in the avant garde jazz and new music scenes. In recent years, Mazurek’s art has explored layering different musical idioms, experiences, and artistic collaborations: alongside his tireless activity as a concert musician (both as a solo artist and as director of many groups he performs with), Mazurek is a sculptor and a visual performance artist. He perfects his visual pieces in his studio in Marfa, Texas, a melting pot for contemporary American art and architecture.
