Marfa Loops Shouts and Hollers

 

Between October 2, 2015 and January 24, 2016, Marfa Book Company presented Marfa Loops Shouts and Hollers, an exhibition of works by Rob Mazurek. This catalogue documents the exhibition of 39 original paintings and objects. It also includes 70 minutes of audio on 25 tracks composed by the artist. 

The book features an essay by John Corbett, author of Microgroove: Forays into Other Music and A Listener’s Guide to Free Improvisation, and co-owner of Corbett vs. Dempsey, an art gallery in Chicago, IL. It also includes an essay by Tiago Mesquita, an art critic, writer, curator and educator living in São Paulo, Brazil. Tim Johnson, who lives in Marfa, TX where he owns and operates Marfa Book Company with his wife, the art historian and archivist, Caitlin Murray, contributes an introductory text.
