As part of the “JAZZHOCHBURG” Carinthia event series, the Haus des Staunens will host:

New Works – Radical Chimera Volume Three

The American interdisciplinary artist and abstractionist Rob Mazurek—whose work spans electro-acoustic composition, improvisation, performance, painting, sculpture, video, film, and installation—has spent much of his creative life in Chicago and Brazil and currently lives in Texas. This year, he is the Artist in Residence in Gmünd.

As a composer, Mazurek is constantly refining and redefining sonic landscapes. Over the past 30 years, he has created more than 500 compositions and continues to explore the transmission of energy through sound as vision, and vision as sound. His artistic work explores the transformation of sound into both moving and still images, seeking new ways of seeing and hearing.

During his stay in Gmünd, he plans to create new works specifically designed for this space, continuing his Radical Chimeras series. He will present these new works at the Pankratium.
